David Weissman graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2008
and became a member of the New York State Bar in 2009. He joined Mirman
Markovits & Landau, PC, as an associate in 2009, where his practice
areas include motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls and other premises
liability cases, lead poisoning and school negligence
Mr Weissman, in addition to court conferences and appearances, prepares
motions and appellate briefs on behalf of our clients. He has written
winning briefs on such matters as a landlord’s duty to warn pedestrians
of hazards on its sidewalk, the New York City Housing Authority’s
obligation to provide proper and sufficient staffing, and the requirement
that an owner of premises, in a case where our client slipped and fell
due to dirt and debris, provide evidence of actual inspections.
During law school, Mr. Weissman participated in a legal services program
advocating for low income tenants in Housing Court and helped obtain Social
Security Disability benefits for the disabled. Following law school, he
continued working on behalf of low income tenants and the disabled at
Brooklyn Legal Services. As a member of the New York County Lawyers Association,
he volunteered to provide free attorney consultations.
Mr. Weissman lives in Brooklyn, where he provides pro bono tutoring to
needy students, leads prayer services at his local house of worship, and
donates regularly to a soup kitchen and an orphanage.
