Number 1: Call the Police
The Police will write a legal record of the incident showing who was involved and

Report the accident to the nearest police precinct. With auto accidents,
a report must be made within 24 hours of the accident.
If a motor vehicle is involved, record the license plate number, insurance company and policy number,

Number 2: Get All Witness Names and Addresses
Record as much information as possible from the parties involved in the incident,
as well as from witnesses who may have seen the accident.
Number 3: Take Photographs
Of damage to motor vehicles, license plates, drivers, and the position of vehicles
on the roadway.

Number 4: Seek Immediate Medical Attention
Even if you don’t feel pain immediately, you run the chance of overlooking a serious problem or condition, if
you do not take care of yourself immediately.
Go to the nearest emergency room for examination.
